Do you supply your Challenger C series heaters for self fit / installation?

No, we do not. As a company we took the decision to stop this method of sale during lockdown.

The reason behind this was that to put it simply the level of poor workmanship was astounding!

With the boom in the vehicle conversion market, it was a free for all to get vehicles ready and out the door.

Sadly, the consequences were very very poor workmanship, not just on heater installation, but the whole conversion.

We foresaw this occurring and withdrew our heaters from the self-fit marketplace. That way we protected the brand.

Challenger C series heaters are ONLY available supplied and fitted. We also withdrew all other heater brands as well (Eberspacher, Webasto etc). We do not foresee this policy changing in the future.

We have been advised by all our manufacturers / suppliers that their prices will be increasing between 4% - 19% depending on the product.

Nearly half of our suppliers have already increased their prices in the last 2 to 3 months whilst the rest will be increasing them from 1st January 2023, so we have made the difficult decision to increase all our prices accordingly from the first week in January 2023.

BOOK before 1st January 2023 to guarantee your order at pre increase prices. Call us now on ☎ 01555 728515

VEVOR DIESEL HEATER RECALL

If you have purchased one from Ebay  / Amazon / AliExpress  or had one fitted by another supplier / installer, we can assist in its removal or removal and replacement.

We appreciate that this has been covered to death on the forums, but it has now escalated.  Vevor as a company are now responsible for this safety recall.  They are informing users to cease use, remove and return for a refund.

YES, we know it is due to incorrect fitting instructions and not the actual heater.  However now that the recall has been escalated to the “manufacturer” it should now be complied with. Do not accept "it's okay it's only due to instructions" from your retailer / installer, they should be assisting you in the removal.

In essence anyone who has had or had fitted a Vevor diesel heater with the heater code 'WF 5001' are in breach of their vehicle insurance policy if the heater is not removed as per the recall detail. (This code was used on 2kw, 5kw and 8kw!). Heater code can be found on sticker located on side of heater.

IDENTIFICATION CODE WF 5001 MUST BE REMOVED

If for example your vehicle is say rear ended by a third party, all their fault. Your vehicle is then insurance assessed for repair and the insurance assessor discovers a recalled Vevor WF 5001 heater fitted and available for use, your insurance probably will be invalidated and the claim disallowed.

If unsure, we suggest that you contact your insurance company direct and not listen to hearsay on Facebook or 3rd party installers with vested interests.

If you are unsure of the heater fitted to your vehicle by a 3rd party installer, check the sticker located on the side of the heater and look for VEVOR and or code WF 5001.

(We do not supply Vevor heaters nor fit them and never have)

Connecting a voltage meter to the battery positive and negative terminals will only give you a headline voltage that is currently in the battery. This figure cannot be relied upon to actually show the health of your battery.

However, should it display a voltage below 12.4v then it is highly likely that your battery is either not fully charged or defective.

What is required to fully understand the battery health is a load test.

A load test will show you the true voltage / level of your battery whilst a load is applied to it.

This can be achieved by using a battery load tester if you have one, or alternatively have one carried out for you at a battery specialist.

Another simpler way is to go to your heater controller and with the heater OFF.

Note the figure displayed on the main controller screen top right. (Refer to above chart for battery health at rest and correct if nessesary)

Now start your heater and again watch the voltage screen on the controller, this will give a live reading of how your battery is performing under the 9 amp start up load of the heater. Refer to above chart for true health of your battery during this start attemp.

If it is 11.5v or  below 11.5v your heater WILL NOT START. Correct battery issue and retry.

Whilst the reading is accurate it still leaves 2 possible issues, 1 the battery itself and 2 the negative grounding to the vehicle chassis.

Further testing would be required to correctly diagnose the issue. A degraded chassis earth is a possible cause and needs to be eliminated prior to replacing battery.

Your heater takes its negative connection from the vehicle chassis, thus a degraded negative battery terminal to vehicle chassis connection or heater negative to chassis connection  can cause issues on low voltage being displayed. Both need to be tested.

If your heater controller screen is blank and your battery is fully charged it is highly likely that the issue is the negative connection or the inline fuse for the heater has blown.
